Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Depends on what 128 GB SSD that is in there, but good deal. Is that from Lenovo's Outlet?
-
The laptop is not from the outlet. I configured from the main page using 'friends & family' and president's day discounts. -
That's a very decent price - I recently paid $1121 for a nearly identical system, save for the upgrade to a 9 cell and downgrade to a 500 gb spindle drive. I would probably have paid that price if I could for a SSD equipped system, were it not for the fact I need a bit more than 128gb onboard. SSD upgrades were far more expensive when I bought mine in January.
-
yea i would drop the ssd to HDD and maybe knock the RAM down to lowest also too although it is prob ok. Find out the price for a single 4gb ddr3 and workout which option is better.
the 128gb ssd is probably a samsung -
$1200 doesn't seem really exciting. There was a tablet version of this laptop on Microsoft web site the other day for $1k (I didn't think that was anything to write about so I didn't open up a thread here). I would HIGHLY recommend buying an SSD yourself and installing it in your own.

Yes, but this one should soon be replaced by the Sandy Bridge variant, I presume. So if anything they should lower the price on it now.
But... you never know when they're going to have the next sale. Or well, at least I don't. -
-
that is a good deal because it discount a lot
and when you get it, you will love it -
Then I really wonder what do you call a bad deal.
-
For the people who feel this isn't a good deal, can anyone point me to a better deal on a similarly specced machine?
I've checked the outlet, and they have a similar machine with a P8600 instead of an i7 and it's $200 more.
Or is there a certain time I should wait to buy? I agree that these will be cheaper at some point in the future, but that's true of any machine. But if the new version comes out next week, I would rather wait.
I appreciate the advice. I really learn a lot from the discussions on this forum even though I don't post much.
Is this a good deal on an x201?
