$1290 CAD all in. I think it's a pretty good deal, but I just wanted to get your opinions on how it stacks up against other deals.

If you can get a coupon it would be better. But as far as I can tell it's a reasonable price.

Seeing as you're buying from Lenovo Canada, that seems to be a pretty good price.

That price is with a coupon. It's through the Visaperks, along with an additional 25% off. Hmmm...Reasonable eh?

I guess I'll hold off on it then. I'll tell you one thing though, this thing is a bargain compared to my MBP!!

Well, if that's through Vistapeaks then it's a bargain. I was comparing it to the CPP price that's why I said it's reasonable.

Could someone clarify is the CPU I have configured is the newest? Is it the arrandale platform that is all the rage these days?

Yes the i7-620 is 32nm dual core. The 720 and 820 on the W510 are 45nm quads.

Of course if you really, really want to be sure you have to check the intel spec pages, eh?

The core i7 is plenty enough for 90% of the users. That's a damn good price form Lenovo Canada. I'd spend an extra 200 for a 3 year warranty though..for peace of mind.

Warranty is not available for the T410 in Canada, so I doubt it will be available for the T510. Seems like a great price though, I'd say go for it!

The coupon code CAXVISAJAN10 (from visaperks) does not work on the Lenovo site for the T510 (I tried it!), unfortunately. This means that the prices are most probably USD, when you go in from that visaperks link.

Not true, it works, I have it in my cart right now. I am still debating the purchase. You have to have at least a $1500 system to get the 25%. My system was at 1523, and went down to 1140 after teh coupon.

Dont forget that the coupon will only work through the visaperks Lenovo site, not the regular Lenovo site.

I don't believe so at all. They tend to be pretty reliable compared with other brands.

However, I have a T61 and I have customer service replace the fan who got a bit noisier. Any idea why the extended warranty is not available on the Canadian website.

Not sure, but I do want to get it.

Wait until later when the coupon is not available or go with the unit now with the 25% off....

if you get it with the 6cell, then it's worthwhile compared to your macbook pro. the 9cell battery tend to protrude.
