Those Zeroshock sleeves look nice. What is the intended use for them though?

They don't have handles right? So you put the laptop in there, then what, put it in a regular backpack?

I am just wondering, if I got one of the Zeroshock sleeves, if I would still need a padded laptop backpack or if it is protective enough to just put the laptop in the Zeroshock, then put that into a regular school backpack with my books and stuff.

Also - And this is important - Will the 15" widescreen model fit a T61p with the 15.4" widescreen AND the 9 cell extended battery?

Just two posts earlier it answers that very question =P.

Anyway, the padding should be enough just to throw it in a backpack (what i probably would be doing). It's also nice to be able just to carry it to a friend's place or short distances with some extra protection.

Well I am almost convinced to buy the zeroshock III but I was just thinking...

What about your mouse, AC adapter, other cords, etc... The Zeroshock sleeve doesn't provide a place to put the other accessories that go with your laptop. I guess that is OK if you don't carry those with you, but I think most laptop users do. So, I'm not sure the laptop sleeve thing makes that much sense, you still need a bag or backpack, so why not just get a backpack that has an integrated padded sleeve inside it? What's the point of having an extra sleeve? Instead of just opening your bag or backpack and pulling out the laptop, wiht the sleeve you have to open the bag, take out the sleeve, open the sleeve, put it somewhere... Seems like extra trouble for no reason.

Or if you disagree, please tell me why the sleeve is useful! I have not owned a laptop before so I don't have experience with this, I am just thinking it out in my head.

It's personal preference, if you don't think it's useful don't get one =P.

The ZeroShock III has a zipper insert to put things in, it fits the AC adapter snuggly, read through page 2-3 (i think, or just this thread) to learn more.

It seems like keeping your AC adapter in the Zeroshock's pocket would actually increase the risk of damaging your notebook because if there is pressure put on the notebook the ac adapter will create a smaller pressure point on the laptop, thus more risk for breaking...

Seems to me like accessories like AC adapters, etc. need to be kept separate in a backpack and definitely outside the padded area of the laptop. Having your AC adapter fit "snugly" against your laptop in its sleeve is just asking for trouble / damage...

I was looking for a notebook sleeve for my T61 14.1" widescreen w/ 7 cell battery. I decided to buy the Zeroshock from an eBay seller that a few people suggested on this thread.

I find the 14.1" Zeroshock sleeve to be a very good fit for my laptop including the 7 cell protruding from the back. But I don't think it's possible to really fit anything inside the front pocket. I wouldn't want to have something pushing against the laptop anyway.

One thing I did notice was that I feel the Zeroshock III has less padding than my Zeroshock II. On the other hand, the Zeroshock III's interior has wave-shaped foam, which the Zeroshock II didn't.

sorry for bumping this old thread :D

just want to know will the laptop run hotter if you don't take it out from the sleeve cause i think the foam will absorb and store the heat from the bottom of the laptop

btw, this site offer sleeve w/ lower price tag (22 + 4 shipping). and they look cool too. My roommate has one and the quality is high imo

    Thanks for the info, Stallen!
It's a year later now... are you still using this sleeve? Do you still like it?
