It says 14.1" SXGA, so it's not the T61. The T61 is widescreen.

I believe the T61 will be offered in both wide and standard.

It will eventually, I found out that initially it will be just wide in the 14" and 15" formats and later on (after about a month for the T61 being released) they'll offer the other standard screen formats. This is all due to parts availability and suppliers pushing the widescreen format more.

I was promised the T61 will have a WSXGA+ screen. If it does not I will buy the Dell Latitude D630 for revenge.

Nope, the notebook in that picture is definitely a T60.

It seems pretty obvious that the 14.1" WS T61's will not have WSXGA+ (1680x1050). It's just an unfounded rumor based on a misunderstood phone call with a Lenovo sales representative.

The sales rep that I spoke with told me right off the bat that 14.1 WS would come with WSXGA+ when I asked him. He then went on to say that it would also be offered in WUXGA...yeah, right. I think the sales reps have a tendancy to jumble up the resolutions for 14.1" and 15.4". I would love to see a 14.1 WSXGA+, but it's just wishful thinking. Not a single LCD manufacturer makes this LCD. Since Lenovo is such a stickler on supply issues, do you think they would order custom panels made just for them? No. They are going with the most standard LCD's so they can choose between several suppliers.

Besides; WSXGA+ resolution on a 14" screen is practically unusable. i think, the highest possible resolution on a 14" widescreen is WXGA+ (1440x900). And even for this resolution you need a good eyesight.

Please do some research before spam such idiot messages that will be unusable. There are enough people (included me) who can easily read normal text on 1920x1200 on 15.4", and that's even smaller then WSXGA+ on 14.1"

I think we have to choose our words carefully and show some respect to different opinions.

jcvjcvjcvjcv, if you think that this message is idiot, do yourself some research and show me at least one 14" notebook with WSXGA+ resolution in the market.

I prefer and use also high resolution screens (15" UXGA, 15,4" WSXGA+). But there is a undeniable fact, that WSXGA+ resolution is unlikely on 14" screens.

I didn't say that there is a notebook with 14.1 and WSXGA+. I wish they would exist, but unfortunately they don't.

    15,4" WSXGA+ isn't really high resolution. Ever used a WUXGA (1920x1200) 15.4"?

yes, i used WUXGA (Latitude D800) for a limited time. i also used 14" WXGA+ (1440x900). Because of the low profile of the widescreen format, WXGA+ resolution on 14" screen seemed very tiny to mee. (tinier than UXGA screen on 15"). That's why i thought, WSXGA+ resolution would be very difficult to use on 14" screens.

But this is an opinion. I didn't claim, that nobody can use it. Of course some people can find it ideal.
