Hello I was wondering whether the ideapad y500 was too thick for me?

I found this picture thanks to someone who posted a link to a review on a thread.

Do any of you have similar pictures of other (all kinds of laptops, gaming and non-gaming) laptops so I can compare the thickness? It would be handy of it was a picture with an object that has a well known size like a dvd box, iphone, cd-box,... on top of the laptop.
    Thank you very much!

Lenovo website lists the laptop as 15.5 - 36mm thickness. Doesn't seem too bad to me.

You should look at an Ultrabook if you need something thin.
But for a notebook the Y500 isn't all that thick really. Especially if you consider the power the device has.

I don't really need something thin I just don't want a gaming laptop that is rediculously thick, I would like it to be in the same range as normal laptops.

I can't afford an ultrabook that's half as powerfull as the y500 so I think I'll rather go with this beast that is powerfull and inexpensive.
By the way the non-sli version is finally in stock in germany, so it can't take long until the sli-version is too :D.

I know ^_^ - I've been refreshing the German Lenovo page about every hour to see if the SLI status goes to 'In stock'.
But this is a good sign. Hopefully I can have the SLI version at the start of 2013 yup.

Anyway I guess the Y500 is thin for a gaming laptop. I was looking at the Gigabyte u2442f a while back because it was pretty fast and light/thin.
But I just can't help and go for something with a FHD screen and all that power! BRAAAAH!

Yeah me too man, I have been wasting so much time researching this laptop instead of studying.
http://www.lenovoshop.com/de/prod/Lenovo®+IdeaPad®+Y500+(MBG2JGE)/55009964A1 has pretty much been my homepage the last 3 weeks :D.

I guess it's not an ultraportable laptop but kinda thin for its specs.
