Could someone confirm this? From what I found, x200s and x61s have about the same width and thickness, but x200s is 295cm long, while x61s is 268cm long. That's a big difference! of course x200s has wide screen, but for portability (x61s) smaller size is preferable.

i think they are both really portable. if they actually had a trackpad id have one too. no trackpad = no deal.
-
The X200 is larger. The X200 has a full-size 7-row keyboard, while the X61 has a shrunken keyboard.
This review has some comparison shots. -
Thanks. Is x200s the same size as x200? (you were talking about x200, without the "s")
Also, x200s seems lighter than x61s, the lightest Thinkpad perhaps? -
Yes, it is larger and has a full-sized keyboard as midnightsun said. I personally think it is worth it. The additional width is not really a huge factor to me because it is still very portable yet is a pleasure to type on.

Yes, the X200s is lighter, since it uses different materials for some case components. It is also thinner. Other dimensions should be the same as the X200.
-
Ridiculous to be using a widescreen display on a ultraportable.

It's a trade-off. It does increase the footprint, and this isn't overly desirable. However, it does increase resolution (1280x800 on x200[t], 1440x900 on x200s, vs 1024x768 on x61), allow for a true full size (and exceptional) keyboard, and generally allow the components to be more spread out. The weight is still lower on the x200s than the x61s (lightest ThinkPad ever I believe), so I don't see what argument could be made against it.
The x200s has the same cross section as the x200. However, it is marginally thinner and substantially lighter. It is definitely the lightest of all current models, and possibly the lightest ever.
Both the x200s and x61s are good choices. However, if you like high resolution screens, full size keyboards, and/or the maximum battery life (45nm Penryn LV, and LED display) then the x200s has a clear advantage. -
The X61s keyboard is pretty phenomenal in its own right, even if the keys are a smidgen smaller.
-
only keys on the side edges (tab, caps, shift, backspace, enter... ) are a little bit narrower, all the letter keys are the same width; and yes, X61s' keyboard is VERY good
Is x200s larger in size than x61s?
