I just found the part between the power and the thinkvantage buttons (close to the hinge) is bulged in my t400.

    Am I the only one?

    nope, mine is , too.

and the part on the main unit, where the ribbon cable going to the screen is closest to, right above the bulging area, right where the LEFT side of the cable, is recessed in mine

yeh mine bulges too. that whole section seems off...

i think that hinge right above those parts is stressing the plastic down, which in turn makes the plastic plate the thinkvantage and power button are on pull up. poor design...

I have it too. Creates a line very similar to the one under the touchpad (which many people seem to also have).

So far I've found 3 cosmetic things many/most people have...
    1. Paint wearing off corners
    2. Screen bezel creating marks/lines where it hits
    3. Bulging/warped top of keyboard

At least they're only really cosmetic issues (aside from the whole keyboard thing)

Mine has a very slight bulge in the area you indicate. I am pretty sure it is the ribbon cable for the LCD as was said above.

Yeah, I got the bulge to. I think it's normal and probably from the cable for the screen. Please keep us posted...

Now, I do not remember seeing the bulge when the unit first came in.
It could be because I did not pay attention, but..

Could it be heat that warped that area in the first 10-20 hrs?

Anyone see the warp fresh out of the box?

My T43 has the same bulge (except it is the the Access IBM button instead of the ThinkVantage button). My T61 was flat in that area.
