Hey everyone, so I'm trying to install a 320GB Seagate Momentus 7200.3 into a T400 and I'm having some major issues.

First of all, when the drive is installed, the computer has issues rebooting. When I ctrl+alt+del, the screen turns off and it just sits there and needs a hard reset.

Second, it takes a few tries before I can get the recovery DVD to boot successfully, but then it does manage to get the image onto the disc...however the hard drive will not boot.

I have tried jumpering the drive to operate in SATA-150 mode and the same thing happens. I have also put this drive into an external enclosure and it works just fine. The recovery partitions and everything are all there and I can read/write to it just fine.

Any suggestions? I know a bunch of you have this drive running just fine inside a T400...

Well, this is also starting to happen with the original hard drive. It's going off to the service center tomorrow, I'll let ya'll know how this turns out.
