My new Z61t arrived a few days ago. Everything seemed normal for the first few days. Two days ago the battery ceased to charge. I then discharged it entirely and the charge function seemed to recover, recharging the battery back to 100%. I then used the Z61t on the battery, discharging it to 83% and then attaching the power supply to recharge back to 100%. It failed to do so, so I am now discharging it entirely again to see if I can repeat the charge cycle.

Another issue is removing the AC power cord while it is operating. A few times the Z61t has rebooted when the AC power cord has been removed.

Finally, the audio output is incredibly low and does not provide a normal listening level. The headphone output is adequate...barely.

Has anyone else experienced any of these issues? Thanks.

Have you made any changes to the stock setup -- software or hardware?

My guess is that you got a bad battery.

I haven't removed any software that came preloaded nor have I changed the factory default on power management.

that could be one of two problems 1) Battery is faulty 2) Charging unit in the laptop is faulty. You should definitely call Lenovo support for this, here are the steps they'll tell you though (they may have you flash the bios first to see if that helps):

    1. Remove the battery from the system.

    2. Look at the connectors in the bay and on the battery for signs of physical damage. Brush off any dust.

    4. Reinsert the battery; push until it locks into place and the latch snaps back to the locked position. Attempt to charge again

If that doesn't work, you'll be asked if you have another battery handy you can test to charge -- if it doesn't charge, the battery charger utility in the laptop is faulty. If it charges, the first battery is faulty. If the charging unit appears faulty or you don't have another battery handy to test, they'll have you send it in for service. If the battery is faulty, they'll ship you a new one. The good news is that my friend recently had a problem with a ThinkPad X41 Tablet and she shipped it on a Tuesday morning and literally got it back via DHL Wednesday afternoon.
