    Hi folks!
Once again I have some questions to ask and hope to get some helpful answers as well :)

Im now using XP Pro on my R400, couple or so weeks ago I put Win7 Pro 64bit on it, I downloaded it from that legal link that was posted in some other thread.
I choosed correct Windows version during installation (Win7Pro64bit) and successfully installed it, then I ran all Win and TP updates and not long after that I encountered problems - my computer simply froze during boot into Windows environment or after going from standby.
I tried to install all updates one by one and restarts each time system prompted to do so and still no luck.
Is there something I should take into consideration when installing Win7 on R400, some specific software or driver problems?
I checked that Win7 topic inside the pinned one, but its too big and I didnt find anything related to my machine.
So, any advices before I start installation again?

Overall ive had nothing but problems with botch stock XP (freezing during shutdow/standy or going from standby) and Win7 that I installed.

so you are having problem with both Windows 7 and XP?

when i install windows 7 on my laptops everything went through quite smoothly, no freezings.

Does windows 7 freeze when before you installed any drivers or updates?

Run a hdd diagnostic from the bios menu.

First, I am sorry that you continue to have problems with your machine. I have a R400 and use Win 7 Pro 64-bit on it. But when I installed the OS (my machine came with no OS) and drivers etc there was nothing special I did, which leads me to say that there is nothing specific with regard to installing Win 7 on your R400.

There shouldn't be problems installing Windows 7 on the R400. Check if the Windows 7 image isn't damaged or corrupted and also check the BIOS to see if the SATA mode is set to AHCI rather than Compatibility (which maybe set for XP) when installing Windows 7.
