Ordered a 7658-15U yesterday from Buy.com, and it arrived just a few hours ago. So far I'm loving it. First boot was definitely slow, but then the two other HP laptops I tried before this one were too. It's really a characteristic of the first few boots, since the system is configuring applications, laying things out for faster booting, etc. I checked the configuration and it has the Samsung screen and Alps keyboard. I have to say, I don't see where the complaints are with the Samsung screen. The screen is clear and bright, no sparkle, no dead or stuck pixels. Build quality is excellent. There are no misaligned panels, everything fits together perfectly, no creaking, no LCD flex, battery is tight, basically everything my T40 isn't. :D

Going to wipe and load Ultimate on it now...

Nice to see someone order one without freaking out about the screen first. Congrats on the machine. I'm sure it will serve you well.

I used ZaZ's FAQ to get to a Lenovo web page to put in my serial number and get a listing of parts for my notebook. Then I Googled the FRU # to find out what kind of screen it was.
