Lenovo (in Memphis) has had my T60p "holding for parts" for six days now (it's probably the LCD screen). Come on, guys! Get the freaking part already. I need this back in my hands no later than next Tuesday!

This is AS bad as waiting delivery on a new system. Arrrrrgh!

I think I'll always pay for the onsite warranties in future laptop purchases.

Is it your T60p or Z60t? I sent my T60p in early January and it was a 2 day turn-around. Many parts were replaced including the LCD. At least you have your other Thinkpad to work on.

I just got a call from someone at Lenovo telling me what I've already seen from the EasyServ website for the last 6 days: that the repair is waiting for a back-ordered LCD screen. She couldn't give me a ETA for the final repair (or return obviously) but she noted that it was supposed to be a 5-7 day turnaround and someone else will be calling me within 24-48 hours with more information.

Is it the LED screen? I called lenovo about a T400 I was interested in and they said with the LED screen estimated delivery time would be more than TWO MONTHS. That's what the website said too but I was wondering maybe it could be error in the system, but nope.

No, this is a two year old T60p. The reason it's back-ordered, I think, is that it's a standard LCD and not the current wide screen. I don't think any Thinkpads come with a standard screen anymore.

I'm lovin' Lenovo again. I got a call about an hour ago telling me my repair has escalated and they've tracked down the LCD for my T60p and, according to the EasyServ site, it's back to "machine being repaired". The guy said, if no other problems arise, it should be done today, which means I should get it before my trip next week, Yea!

This makes me think that if I called on Tues. (Mon. was a holiday) they would have escalated the repair earlier. Still, I've gotten two calls in as many days telling me they're working on getting the repair done and I'm rapidly becoming a Lenovo customer for life.

    Good job, Lenovo.
