So I ordered my T61 on June 30 and its already been a huge saga dealing with lenovo. First off my estimated ship date was august 23rd for what I later found to be because of my 160 gb hd. A week later I called to see if there was any updates and the person stated that my laptop would be shipping out on July 19th. In the meantime my docking station arrived and my 2 gb stick of memory. I then called Lenovo to confirm that the hd was the source of the delay and if I changed it would it make a difference. The perosn siad she would email that day letting me know what she found out. Well I finally got the email 5 days later saying it was the hd. Sp the next day I called and changed my order to a 60 gb hd to speed it up. The person said I should then get it in about 2 weeks and that she would change my order and leave me a voicemail that day. Well its now been 3 days since then and there is no update. It seems to me like that are trying to get me to not buy their product. Everytime I call I get horrible service after waiting on hold for an hour and a half.
would I be better off canceling my order and placing a new one? I need the laptop before August 17th because I am going to college and need to do a bunch of work on it while I have the time.

I think you switching the HD should've solved most of the delay problem. Everyone else is saying that the HD is the source of the problem. I think it is best to wait. Sure Lenovo has crappy service, but thats because they are dealing with many calls like yours and unfortunately they cant handle it. Good luck to ya.

I wouldnt be surprised if you got two T61's one with the 160gb HD and one with the 60GB HD. Lenovo's reps seem to be much like sloths with regards to order updates/information. Good Luck!
Ive got a case of Lenovo inspired frustration
