That's right, hogwash. My configuration came out to be ~$20 more than the Father's Day Sale. And the "free" wifi card is a bunch of baloney. Before this sale, you could save $30 by selecting the other card, now you have to pay to get the other card, which makes the whole thing even higher. Seesh..
Oh, and if you look at fatwallet, it states that "Free shipping" expires on the 30th. So does the SPP coupon. They're probably going to make it look like they're giving you a great deal come July, but in reality, it's the same price because now you have to pay for shipping! How much you want to bet?
-
lol........WAIT GUYS THE PRICES WILL GO LOWER
HAHAHAhahaaha
last year, they gave away T41's and T42's...blah blah blah -
wow this cant be the sale
you save $45 -
freedom to go
im pissed -
I concur the July 4th Sale is a non-event, but can you blame them after all these delays and botched-up orders? They need to get their house in order before putting on another sale. Christmas maybe?
-
Is this the current July 4th sale? How can you know? It's not July yet. Maybe the July 4th sale is yet to come?
-
and tailormade will be expired too...
-
With the sudden rush of shipments going out, do you think they would undercut their previous sales and having to price-match?
-
I was pleasantly surprised that I already got a credit from them (invoiced 6/23 -> Tailormade credit 6/25).
-
mine turns out to be roughly 50$ cheaper is all from befroe..
-
IMO they are pretty much going to hover around a similar price range, free shipping, saving a bit more here and there with certain configurations. Aside from +/- spp/epp I don't think it will ever be drastic, until they wind up on the surplus page.
Then again, just wait til that next holiday... might be that much cheaper! -
Yeah, $30 more now. Ugh.
-
tailormade will still credit you even if they dont charge you card until the laptop ships right?
for example if i ordered today but it obviously wont ship before june 30th, ill still earn my cash back... -
-
I got mine shipped out within time and just got the credit. However, if you contact them and explain the delay, I am sure they will credit you as they will see the initial hold on credit and then once shipped that charge will confirm it.
As for July sale, I didn't expect to see a huge sale from Lenovo as they probably lost their 2nd quarter sales expectation with the mess they made at least in consumer direct sale market. -
Yea this sale isn't too hot...
...but last Thursday I placed an order, realized I made a mistake, then called it cancelled it 30 mins later. I want to reorder, but there is still temporary authorization on my credit card from the original order. I called Lenovo today, and the guy apologized for this, told me he'd have the hold removed today, and then he gave me his extension and told me to call him when I was ready to order again and he'd give me an extra 5% off on top on my order. -
The July 4th sale has not started yet. Otherwise, it would have been mentioned as any previous sales such as "Memorial Days" or "Father's Day". There is no mention of any sale besides the standard discount on Lenovo Website.
-
well theres a Banner add that says "Freedom to go" with the discounts and a background of an american flag....I think those may be hints that they are 4th of july specials
Also, holy crap, the base price of the x60 tablet on the education site just went flying up to 2,888.05 -
AFAIK, in any previous sale, Lenovo will mention it specifically. Unless you see anything mention in quote, i.e special sale, you won't get a lot of savings from the regular discount.
-
my favorite part of this sale is that the T60s and all the 60s have bene removed, so you have to get a 61 hahaha

If this was the 4th of July Sale...There really is no sale in my opinion. I'm configuring a T60P, and it turned out to be more expensive than the last time I configured. -_-
-
Yup, my Memorial Day price is about $30 better than the price they offer now for the same specs. And that's before including the Meyer discount. Whoever (ahem) suggested that the July 4th sale was gonna be super awesome and worth waiting for has screwed a lot of people over.

Even the memorial day discount wasn't that hot compared to the sale immediately before it.
Oh well, such is life. -
I can't reiterate how marveled I am that the July 4th sale sucks this bad even with all the hype generated by IBM employee(s). -
If you are referring to the T61's, then the Memorial Day sale was the best sale so far. But for a couple of months now I have been configuring the T60p's whenever a new sale came out. For a T60p, there was a sale that preceded the Memorial Day sale that was definitely better than the Memorial Day sale by far.
-
fair enough
Let's just agree that the 7/4 sale sucks. Let's hunt rabbits for breakfast. -
Wow, everything I've configured is $25 more expensive now.
Is the free shipping really a "limited time offer"? I made some quotes a few days before that I'll probably order, but I would like to wait until July 4th just in case. But it won't be worth it if they start charging for shipping. -
Are you guys sure the 4th of July sale has started already? I don't see anything that says 4th of July on Lenovo's website.
Like some other forum members who have already mentioned, Lenovo has to clear a whole bunch of T61 backlogs. So I guess the last thing they need right now is to have another influx of new T61 orders. -
but it's stilll the best deal you will get on this for awhile.
after this no tailormade and no IBMUSTRIPPLE CODE. -
When do you think a new tailormade deal will come out?
-
I'm just having a hard time believing anyone thinks a sale is for the customer's benefit and they are "owed" a good deal. Capitalism and the maximization of profit movitate any sale - or any business transaction for that matter.
-
Well, I'm kinda glad I waited until the july sale. I just used the spp coupon code for that 5% off and it came out a little less then Father's day without any coupon (it was used up by the time I was ready when I was ready to order).
Plus I have a Wi-fi N card for future use
And about sales in general... a lot of people wish to save every bit they can so they wait for sales on stuff they need/want, so it does benefit both parties. It also feels good to cut into a companies profits -
To resign to a "we can't defeat the system so who cares about our self interest" mindset is indicative of complete ignorance. If the business has no sale, we don't buy. If they do, more of us buy and there's more profit in it for them. Capitalism motivates sales because they motivate us as we save money. How is that not a benefit? I can't believe I have to even explain this- even I feel like a noob now. -
There is no any mention of 4th of July sale on the Lenovo's website, so it still might come.
Tailormade is not a one-time event.
They will reinstate it either tomorrow or a few days after that ((judging by the previous history), possibly as a better deal. -
tailormade is now 10% until july 31
-
*5% off purchases between $1,100 and $1,299.99
*7% off purchases between $1,300 and $1,599.99
*10% off purchases of $1,600 and higher
Which is great news for those that got caught in the endless shipping delays. -
5% off purchases between $1,100 and $1,299.99
7% off purchases between $1,300 and $1,599.99

What is tailormade? What is the code? I ordered my computer on
Friday but I just wanted to check for sales and when I put in the
USXIBMSSTRIPLE code in the Shareholder page it no longer works.
I haven't received confirmation from Fatwallet yet either. Their
web page says they don't send confirmation until the Merchant sends
them confirmation. My shipping date is SUPPOSEDLY July 18. -
July 4th sale is a bunch of hogwash
