    Just ordered a T61.

    Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz 4MB L2 Cache
Vista Home Basic (trying to save $30 since I'm only planning on running Linux)
    14.1 WXGA+ TFT w/o Camera
    Intel GMA X3100 GMA965
1GB - 1 DIMM (planning on buying this - it should work in dual channel, right?)
    100GB 7200rpm hard drive
    Intel 4965AGN
4 cell battery (I will almost always be near an outlet, and I want a battery that will sit flush).

Does everything look good while I still have time to cancel?

I start school in late August, although I may take a course over the summer. It's definitely not going to be used for gaming; it's mostly for personal use and school work (engineering major).

    Thanks.

What is the estimated ship date of your T61? A lot of people here have been getting estimates into late August.

Lenovo has acknowledged this as a bug in their website.

    8/30

Luckily though, as the poster above mentioned, it's a bug.

On the Payment and Review page, it said 6/8/2007.

Then after I paid with a credit card, it said 8/30/2007.

I sure hope it is the former and not the later date.

Will the memory I plan to order work in dual channel with the one that's already in there?

You and I ordered very similar machines. :D

I went with the Atheros card over the Intel for better sensitivity, and almost went with the 4-cell for the same reason as you did. However, as much as I expect to always be plugged in, I don't think I could make it through a DVD on a bus if I had to on that. I compromised the clean lines for a 6-cell. Otherwise we're in the same boat. :)

So does my boss ... LOL

I've had my share through the years ... and those dreadful times when your pager would go off at 2 am. LOL

My only question now is whether or not that stick of G.Skill will work.

Someone told me I should check whether it is RoHS compliant, because if it's not, the heat can cause a solder joint to fail. I don't see anything about it being RoHS compliant.

In the Newegg reviews, people are claiming it works in a T60. Is it safe to assume it will work in dual channel in a T61? (They both use PC2-5300).
