Just Ordered a W500!! :)

Well i had just ordered the T400 yesterday with these specs:

P8400 2.6ghz
2gig ram
ati 3470
160gb 7200rpm
bluetooth
9cell


The total was with tax and shipping $1,218.51

Well tonight i got on there on the cpp website and i was able to find that he W500 is actually cheaper than the T500.. not that i care (basically the same machine) but i was able to get a killer machine for just a bit more money

The W500 i just ordered:

T9400 2.53ghz
WSXGA+ 1680*1050
2gig ram
ati fire GL 5700 512mb
160gb 7200rpm
bluetooth
9cell

Total with shipping, tax, & the advanced mini dock was: $1632.15

A difference of $ 413.64

and that is with the dock, so if i didnt get the dock, which i wasnt going to get with the T400 it would have only been a near $ 250ish difference! I'm So happy. Because it has the much better video card, i am selling my desktop (hence the docking station) and i will more than recover the $413.64 difference.

Sorry to babble on, but you will for sure have a review as soon as i get my hands on this bad boy.

what's the firegl 5700's radeon equivalent?

 

I could be wrong, but I think the ATI fireGL 5700 is just a little better than the 8600 GT DDR3. Again, I could be wrong on this one.

For me, I have a gear envy directed towards the 17" model only because it has a built in tablet.

How come W500 comes with T-processor, while T500 uses P?
(whats the advantages of both?)

 

The reasons why I didnt go with w500 is that, I wanted 14 inch notebook.
Plus w500 doesnt have LED Backlight

The max that you can get with W500 is
15.4" WUXGA TFT

and T400 is
14.1 WXGA+ TFT, w/ LED Backlight, Camera
