Well I just ordered t500 right before the 25% deal was about to expire. The 25% off was on purchases above 1500, and 15% on purchases less. So the elite t500 was actually ending up costing me just 100 dollars more than the 3mb cache t500. Anyways here are the specs, I got this for $1290 Canadian taxes included.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo processor T9600 (2.8GHz1066MHz6MBL2)
Operating system: Genuine Windows Vista Business
Operating system Language: Genuine Windows Vista Business - English
    Display type: 15.4" WSXGA+ TFT
System graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB
    Total memory: 2 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 (1 DIMM)
Keyboard Language: US English Keyboard 1
    Camera: Integrated Camera Module 1
Hard drive: 250GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm
Optical device: DVD Recordable, Ultrabay Slim
System expansion slots: Express Card & PC Card Slots
    Bluetooth: Integrated Bluetooth PAN 1
Integrated WiFi wireless LAN adapters: Intel WiFi Link 5300 1
    Modem: Yes - AMoM 1
Mobile Broadband: Integrated WWAN upgradable 1
    Battery: 6 cell Li-Ion Battery 1
Power cord: 90W AC Adapter; NA, LA, (2pin) 1
Publication Language: English US Publication 1
    Accessories and options:
    ThinkPad T500 / R500 15W Privacy Filter

They said shipment might be delayed 3-4 weeks due to the screen type. Anyways I opted for the non LED higher resolution. I hope that doesn't disappoint me too much. I think I got a nice deal, I hope it arrives soon though, how long did your shipment take?

Also I wanted to know if you can add to your warranty within a year or so.

Oh and Midnights review was helpful too in decided between a t500 or a macbook pro 13 inch.

That's a powerful system you have there - I hope you receive it soon, and find it a great machine.

And glad my review helped! :)

Thanks man, I also had a question about the display port. I have a Sony HDTV, its fine if there is no audio, I can connect some speakers to the laptop, but can the display port be used to use the HDTV as a monitor?? What kind of cable would I require and my HDTV has HDMI input. Also is the quality better than vga?

You can use a DisplayPort to HDMI converter for video. At 1080p, the quality will be much better than VGA.

For audio, you can either connect a set of speakers, or use a cable like this one to connect from your T500's headphone jack to the TV.

All of this, though, is presuming your TV has the required inputs - HDMI and 3.5" mm sound jack.

Thanks yep, my tv has 4 hdmi inputs, I also have a hdmi cable already, got it dirt cheap for 6 bucks. The problem is this converter is from newegg America, the canadian site doesn't have it, I did find one elsewhere but its 36 dollars at dell canada. Hopefully I will find a good deal soon.

Within current warranty period, just ring Lenovo up and extend it.
I think you will like the WSXGA+, despite CCFL. :)

This is the best place to buy for Canadians. Keep the order under $30 to avoid border fees.
