Just bought my fiancee a T60- she had to return the T42 her job let her borrow.

    1953E4U
    Core Duo T2400
    14.1" Screen
    Integrated graphics
512 mb ram (will buy extra from newegg)
    100 GB 5400 rpm HD
    CD RW
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
6 cell (hopefully not sony) battery

Pretty much the same as mine, save for the integrated graphics, smaller battery, and CD RW rather than a DVD RW. I figure if she needs it, she can always borrow my 9 cell or DVD RW.

And now the waiting begins (again.) Oddly enough, I'm more excited about this purchase than she is...

Lol, sweet! Women never get as excited about computers as men, that's just the way it is. Well good luck.

Oh yeah, and I think Lenovo only uses Sony batteries... (correct me if I'm wrong).

Haha, true- at least in my case.

T60 6 cells are made by either Sanyo, Panasonic, or Sony. 9 cells by Sanyo or Panasonic. Not sure if they've decided to only go with Sony.

Hah, I configured a Z61t for my girlfriend after weeks of looking at different models (even some non-Thinkpads....gasp!) and once it was ordered, I was stoked. She was excited, but didn't like the delay...though it turned out to be only 2 weeks! Once she got it, she was THRILLED. Unfortunately, I was all the way in Beijing by the time she opened it...sigh. I could've been there for its first moments.

Needless to say, all the Thinkpad shopping online made me hungry for one, and that' when I dropped the dough on the two Thinkpads in my sig. Now my parents are pissed at me spending so much money....they weren't even that much! Gah.

Hope you and your fiance enjoy your fine products =)

Not to beat a dead horse, but none of my 3 batteries (4 if you count the media bay) are sony. Unless they've recently switched, which I guess is possible.

Congrats on the purchase evilted. When I picked out a t60 for my gf, I was definitely more excited than she was. Not to mention it made me want to get one also, since mine is just a lowly t43.

    Thanks for the battery corrections.

Ahh man that sucks! I feel bad for you haha. But at least she likes it... it'd be really bad if she didn't like it and just pretended to.
