Well since i was in the market for a new netbook after i sold my acer netbook, I was looking at new ones I came across the new ideapad s12 with the via cpu. Since it was a cheaper then the atoms and my other atom netbook was SLOW and couldn't do simple multitasking. so I bought one JUST before they were sold out and got it within a week. and so far i am impressed! After I turned it on and did a fresh install of xp ( i hate when company fill it up with trials you will never use ) and I am surprised on the speed increase over my old atom netbook.

Just some things I want to point out are

    • I got a 4 hour battery life watching a standered def movie
    • the expresscard slot is tied to a pcix channel insted of usb like everyother atom netbook
    • my friend who knows how to rip bluray movies to a harddrive riped a movie for me and I placed it on my desktop and played it and to my suprize it actually played IN FULL SCREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • I also got my favorite mmo guild wars running at 30fps on this thing in full screen, so I can play it at work while i am waiting on bug reports!

Sounds nice, I like the screen size.

I have the original Lenovo S10 netbook, and my only complaints are.. the heat and the small touchpad. After playing around with Toshiba's netbook, I am very touchpad envious

Where are the trackpoints Lenovo!?

Any issues yet? Price is great looking at 12 inch models main thing is video. This is being offered way less than ion models.

I can pretty much watch any 720p video in any codec... while most 1080p can be watched with coreavc codec or most mp4 footage
