I have been lurching on these forums for the past 2 weeks while obsessing over the T500 and I finally bought it!

    These are the stats:
    Intel® Core™2 Duo T9400 (2.53 GHz, 6MB LS, 1066 MHz FSB)
    Genuine Windows Vista Business 32
    15.4" WSXGA+ (1680 X 1050) TFT
    3GB (1GB & 2GB) PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory
64GB SATA 2.5" SSD Solid State Drive
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer Ultrabay Slim
    Intel® WiFi Link 5100 (1x2 AGN)
    1 Year Standard
9 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (6.0 Hour Run Time)
Carrying Case, UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)
    AMD M86M Switchable Graphics 256MB

I didn't really expect to get a SSD but I couldn't find a good one from the outlet store without one. Now that I researched solid state drives, I think I will love it. I will store my big videos/photos on my external hard drive.

Edit: I bought it all for $1000 from the lenovo outlet!

Congrats! You can probably get even more than 6 hours on your 9 cell too.

How are you liking the notebook so far? How long was the shipping wait?

I'm pretty sure he was referring to martinmach, not himself.

To OP: You got a great deal! I got my laptop with a conventional hard drive for ~$1100. I've had a great experience with my T500 so far (you can see my review of it here). Great choice, and I'm sure you'll love it as well :)

My T500 showed up today and the parts inside the box are shaking around like crazy. I'm actually not going to open the box until I have confirmation from Lenovo that this is normal. What was the box your computer was delivered in like? Mine is just a slim box, not packed in a larger box. I think this is surprising. I've never seen a computer delivered this way.

it is fantastic after the free replacement t61 keyboard . it is my primary comp, using it 24/7. so far i have no problems. blazing fast both for ordinary tasks and games.

i got worried when i received no confirmation mail after 4-5 business days, so i called them and they promised that it will be dispatched shortly after the testing, i received it within a day after the phone call.

they tossed in a bunch of software that was in the original order. looking at the software, i think my machine was ordered and canceled by some student as part of university program
