Just got a Lenovo twist (s230u) some quick questions...

I just got a twist for a pretty good deal, I love this laptop but I have heard of a few problems with it, mainly the screen rotation. This was our old display unit at a Staples I work at and I remember the rotation getting stuck and having issues when it was on display. I heard updates will fix this, but I don't know what specifically needs updating? Is it something that just downloading all of the latest windows updates/8.1 will fix or is it a lenovo specific thing I need to download?

This unit basically sat around for the past 8+ months before I did a fresh restore of windows on it today. Is there anything specific I need to download and update to get full functionality of this? Are windows updates and the basic drivers it gives you fine, or should I be updating everything from lenovos website?

Hoping for any advice if anyone has any experience with this laptop.

Edit: I have not noticed any issues with the screen rotation getting stuck/rotating when it's not supposed to after installing all of the latest updates and 8.1, though I have not tried messing around with it too much since then but I think this is probably okay now?

I have noticed some issues with the trackpad stopping responding (I know I know, it has a trackpoint I shouldn't even be using the pad). I will be using it fine then all of the sudden it will stop tracking my fingers on it, even if I switch fingers, take it off and put it on again, push harder, lighter etc etc. It will cut out for maybe 5-10 seconds then start working again. When this happens however the touchscreen works fine as does the trackpoint, it does not seem like a problem with the computer locking up for a second but the touchpad itself. I updated to the latest ultranav drivers from Lenovos website and it still persists. Are there any known problems with it? Could it just be a driver issue? Is it just not a good quality trackpad? Could it just be my machine is messed up from being a floor display unit at a retail store (if that's the case I'm fine, I know what I bought)? I'd just like to have it working optimally if possible and know for sure if it won't. Surely there has to be some Lenovo experts here with some knowledge about this machine!

One other thing I notice is when using the laptop, the screen will randomly dim down to a lower/almost lowest brightness even when I am typing/moving the mouse or touchscreen and come back up by itself not when I use the laptop as if it's not dimming itself because of not being used, wondering if anyone knows anything about this as well.
