I want to know if other people have this. When you press the middle key under the space bar that makes you scroll down the page when you use the red cap does it sometimes not working and the cursor will just move down the page.

I have to apply a certain amount of pressure on it to work otherwise the cursor will move down.

Try pushing down your key and letting go a minimal amount of pressure (make sure the key is still pressed down) and see if your cursor moves down instead of a page going down.

yeah its not a keyboard issue, its a software thing with the trackpoint.

depending on which frame the mouse pointer is on (in mozilla) you can sometimes scroll and something not

it could be a hardware issue if you find that it works when pressing harder. if that's the case, you can get a new palm rest (if you're under warranty). also try reinstalling the palm rest

No, I replaced my keyboard, the scroll button is a part of it. It works when I press on it, but sometimes when I let go of a bit of pressure (the key is still pressed) my cursor will just move instead of scrolling.

I don't think I had this problem with my other keyboard.

just checked my spare, yeah you're right

its probably the hardware then. hopefully you kept the old keyboard (lenovo let me keep the last 3 i had swapped out)

try using the old one to confirm hardware issue and call again for replacement.

edit: I now notice that if i press lightly, it goes down, flickers and doesnt work. strange indeed. i usually press harder than that in normal operation
