My laptop is delayed until 10/23. But I already received it 8/17.

    What to do?

    Your Options:
    1. Hope they made a mistake and you're getting two laptops.
    2. Scream, cry, and run around in circles until the cops come.
    3. Nothing, since you have your laptop and are only looking for something to do, when absolutely doing nothing will suffice. Seriously, what did you expect to do?

Well for one thing I don't want to be charged for two.

Did you buy two laptops? If not, follow above guide. Lenovo, like every other company charges you when you configure the laptop online and click "CONFIRM", not after you receive your laptop, and have the chance to run off to China without paying.

I doubt you'll be charged for two. Just ignore it for now. If another comes check your cc statement and if they charged you again give lenovo a call. Shipping it back will be at their expense so you have nothing to worry about.

While I agree that the OP shouldn't be worried, in actual fact Lenovo (like every other company) charges your card when the laptop ships, not before. It's possible that if Lenovo screwed up they could ship and charger for an additional laptop. However, in that case you would merely refuse delivery and have your CC company reverse the charge.

Hmm, every laptop I've bought (HP and Asus) was charged about 15 minutes after I clicked "CONFIRM". Maybe the changed it.

Yes I can confirm they definitely charge you at the time of shipment. Personally I would run in circles until the cops came.

It's possible they put a hold on the funds to confirm you have the credit, but the card isn't actually charged till they ship. It's been that way for a while.

The one that shipped, do the packing slips reference the same order number as the one that's delayed?

What does the online order status show for your oder?

'fraid not. Dell charged my for my XPS1330 about 6weeks after I ordered it, and on the same day they sent me an email to advise there was another 6week delay to the shipping date.

    I cancelled the order... :)

The order status shows as not shipped and shipping on 10/23. I don't have the box nearby right now so I can't check it but this laptop IS the same configuration as I ordered. And I deffintely ordered only one.

If you ordered a T61 with the USB Wireless Adapter, then the e-mail was most likely generated due to a backlog of that option. I had the same issue, but they shipped mine to me anyway (without the Wireless USB option). I'm now trying to resolve this with IBM. Good luck.

I did not. It is a 14" so I believe it can't even come with WUSB.
