first, the touchpad is awful right now. it jumps around the screen when im scrolling and its incredibly frustrating. i tried uninstalling the synaptic drivers and that has not worked.

secondly, the volume and mute buttons do not light up. i thought this may be b/c of the energy star program so i uninstalled that to no avail as well...

any help would be greatly appreciated. other than that, its a great laptop

    How about an unhelpful one?

If someone can help, great, but this is a free forum. Take it as such.

Have you tried updating to the latest touchpad drivers? Maybe you could read your manual concerning the touch buttons.

I've never used or seen that model, but experience the same sort of touchpad jumpiness on some dells i've handled. Helped in my case to turn off "tapping", otherwise you might be able to adjust the sensitivity with the drivers reinstalled.

As for the lights not lighting, if they are supposed to, that seems like a bigger problem for which I have no suggestions except to call support.

Zaz go easy on people here ... patience is a virtue. Stupid query maybe but did you look at all the settings and played around with them ?

The settings are an internet forum. On the internet people become rather overly expecting. The op should observe the bump rule :p. Someone did eventually offer a piece of hopefully helpful advice.
