I didnt get the WXGA+ because I didnt feel the need to. And if you really need to know, the total was $850.

Should have gotten the 5100 or 5300. I have the Thinkpad (realtek) BGN and it really sucks .

Not bad for the price; it's got a powerful CPU. Hope you enjoy it!

hope you enjoy your new T400!
    1) I expect you will want to add a 2GB ram module soon?
    2) the 160GB 7200rpm HDD's are fabulous. very fast and very quiet.
    3) I guess you won't be using it much beyond the mains (choice of 4cell battery).
    4) if you want to extend your support to on-site it costs very little, and that way you never have to lose your computer to the techies for any time if they have to fix it. you can extend the warranty whilst your present one is still current.
    5) the P8700 is a really nice cpu, and switchable graphics is awesome.
    6) like you, I have a CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo, and making the recovery set takes 13 CD's. Best to do it immediately. :)

I though the Thinkpad Wifi was made by Atheros. Did they change manufacturers?

Lately, most people have said their Thinkpad B/G/N wifi card is made by Realtek.
