After putting up with my Dell Inspiron E1405 for a week, my eyes hurt and I hate it. I decided to do away with Dell and check on the infamous IBM/Lenovo line. I order a 3000 n100 with 15.4 WXGA Screen 1280 x 800.
T2300E 1.66 GHZ Core duo
80 GB HDD
512 MB Ram
Bluetooth/ Intel Wireless
I do have a question though. I want to order another stick of 512 mb, although I am clueless to the exact specs of the ram in the machine, so could you guys point me in the right direction of speed, size I need to buy.
Offer me some feedback on how you like your machines!
Thanks guys!

My wife made the same switch a few weeks ago. The N100 is so much better than the E1405, you won't be disappointed.
I also upgraded the RAM on her's from 512MB to 1GB. I bought DDR2 667 from NewEgg ( Exact link for what I bought), and I haven't had any problems with it. And the machine flies. -
Onedeep, whats up. I ordered the 15.4" screen because the small fonts of the e1405's screen made my eyes hurt. Do you think I should have went with the 14.1" for the lenovo because of the increased resolution size?

Also, how long did it take for you guys to recieve your lenovo's? Do they go through a boxing stage like the dells?

When I ordered mine I was concerned about the small fonts. Mine is the 15.4" 1680x1400 and is very easy on the eyes. Even at my age. As far as time to order to receive it was quick. I ordered the Lenovo 3000 N100 768 2CU with the upgrade to 1GB of ram and extended the warranty to 3 years. Order Placed 5/26/06 Shipped 5/29/2006 and received 06/01/2006.

Shipping...
I don't remember exactly when we ordered ours, but it was near the end of May, with a ship date of the end of June. Almost exactly a week later, it was shipped. Because they come from China, it got hung up in the shipping process for a day, but I have heard that others have had longer waits.
So basically, the ship dates they quote are overly cautious.
Just ordered a Lenovo! psyched :)
