Was a tossup between an R61 & T61. I ended up going with the "economical" one because the power is basically the same, but I wanted a camera/regular sized optical drive (for blueray upgrade) & s-video out over a slightly smaller chassis with none of those features. I can't wait. Been 5 years since I got a new laptop.

    Here are the specs :)

Congrats, a fine machine. Do write back once you've had it for a bit.

    I think the 15.4 inch R61 doesn't have a magnesium roll-cage... too bad..

I doubt its possible to change my order at this point, but would it be worth getting the Nvidia graphics card instead of integrated graphics? I wouldn't mind losing the S-video out so much, but from the site it looks like you also lose Firewire, which I don't understand, nor want to lose.

I don't plan on gaming on it. At all. I have a desktop for that. Are their any other reasons to get integrated graphics? Without it I know I'll save battery power, have less heat ect, but I have also heard with Vista its a good idea to have one.

    Anyways just brainstorming here :)

If you won't play games, don't waste your money on the Nvidia graphics. The X3100 runs Vista just great and will even play older games very well (MOHAA, COD etc.) As you pointed out the X3100 also gives you much better battery life - stick with what you already have!

Ok good, just wanted to make sure vista will run fine on it. From the looks of it it will. Got confirmation it already shipped! Much faster than I thought it would take (less than a week). :)
