So just received my Lenovo Y50 that cost me $949.

    These are the specs
    Lenovo Y50-70

    $949.00
    • 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4720HQ Processor (2.60GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
    • Windows 8.1 64
    • 15.6" FHD IPS LED Backlight (1920x1080)
    • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 4GB
    • 16.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
    • Hybrid 1TB 5400 RPM+8GB SSHD
    • None
    • Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160
    • Bluetooth Version 4.0
    • One year
    • 4 Cell 54 Watt Hour Lithium-Ion

Already ordered an SSD. Now I am wondering if there are any programs I should be installing for better performance. So far I love it. It's a little bit bigger than my hp envy. The screen really isn't bad at all. So far the hinge seems sturdy so idk.

Sorry i can't help you, but i am really interested in the new ips screen and havent found any review yet. Could you please describe how goos/bad is it? You mention that is not bad at all, but I would appreciate some extra details.
    Thanks

Er I'm no reviewer or anything but I was comparing it to my old laptop (HP Envy 15in) it is definitely superior in everyday. Only slight problem is the HD resolution makes my text smaller :T on my old laptop i couldn't even run Arkham Origins on low settings. This one I have everything maxed out, getting an average of 60 fps and after 2 hours there's barely any heat. That being said the design on the hinge scares me so I'll be very careful and wary of that warranty. Don't want to use it in less than a year.
