I ordered my first notebook last night, the Lenovo N100. I read that their products were for the most part quality. I couldn't afford something from their Thinkpad line so opted for the consumer N100. Hopefully this machine will last me for atleast 2 years. [Get ready for the bad pun...] So excited and I just can't hide it!![]()

Its a pretty decent machine.

I have seen those in the store and they seemed quite good. Certainly seemed better than the consumer level products from some other manufacturers.
I'd surely look at them too if i wasn't needing the track point thingy (important for me). -
what's this track point thing I keep hearing about?
-
I'll field this one guys. The track point thing is the red lil nub you see in the middle of the keyboard on lenovo's thinkpad line. You put one finger on it and you can move it like a joystick to move you curser on the screen. Some people love it and would never even think to consider a keyboard without it. Thinkpads are renound for having the best keyboards and the red track point is a big reason why. One big advantage of the trackpoint is it lets you quickly move the curser without moving your fingers from the keyboard area.
Thinkpad fans recently raised hell when lenovo thoughlessly removed the color of the trackpad and track point buttons making them all black. I predict that one day lenovo set aside its plans for world domination and do the right thing and put those pretty colors back where they belong. -
Oh ****... yea that does sound pretty handy. Thanks gmoney.
Just purchased my first notebook... excited!
