The pixel is at the middle of height but next to the left edge of the screen (approximately 10 pixels right from the left edge)

On white background it appears red
On black background I cannot differentiate it
On blue background it appears black

Oh, I have the 1600x900 screen, don't know which specific panel (how to find out?)

So... what to do? (I'm in the UK and I got it from the lenovo uk site)

I tried rubbing it a bit with a q-tip but it didn't work. Or I didn't try hard enough.

Should I use a program to 'unstuck' it if possible? (which one?)
    Or should I call (where?)
I don't know what the warranty says about this.

One bad pixel is bad luck as it is not cause for replacement - see Lenovo support here.

You can find out the hardware details by entering the model and serial numbers here.

I would suggest you park the Windows task bar at the left side of the screen (it also helps make use of the wide aspect display)and you will probably find that you stop noticing the bad pixel.

I guess in the US it's possible to return the product for refund. However in the UK I read somewhere from the website that a customised machine cannot be returned under DSR.

Which means "stuck pixel on customised machine purchased on the UK site" = ****** up.

I also worry about my upcoming X220.

thanks guys.. I've read about that thing you quote sniper_sung, but I don't want to cancel my order.. I just want to know what's in the warranty for this case, can't seem to find something though. I'll call tomorrow.

For now I'm trying a program that flickers that part of the screen trying to unstuck it.

I guess I'll learn to live with it. The good thing is that it's at the edge of the screen, so not so noticeable, and while on my desk I work mostly on my 23" tft that I have connected, not on the laptop screen.

Oh, I have the AUO panel too. Now lets see what other problems could be there.. Any short list of things to check for?

lol I just called ibm support uk.

They said I must have 2 dead/stuck pixels for warranty to work..!

Now lets see if I can find another one.. Or if the one I see is actually two (but I don't think so). He asked to send him a picture of the pixels to verify there are two.
