I was looking for the same thing. I searched ebay, but I didn't find any that "wrapped" into the keys. All the ones listed were generic ones that only sat above the keyboard.

I think the OP and I are looking for a cover that wraps into the keys (molds into the keyboard instead of just sitting on top).

You mean something with the keys mapped out to fit the T60/T61 keyboard? If that's what you're refering to I'm using one right now that I bought from ebay and it's molded to fit T61. Seller was from HK and a regular on ebay.

Hmm I've never seen that kind of cover configuration before, either that or the cover is not that distinct in the image.

I have however managed to find a keyboard cover which just covers the keyboard and can be typed on easily. Here is the layout to see if its the right one: http://www.kbprotector.com/images/z036-2.jpg

The item is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/SONY-VAIO-lapto...yZ140084QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. Now it does say Sony VAIO so scroll down to the table of available models. You will see 'Lenovo (IBM)' and right next to ' T60 / T61 / R60 / R61 / Z60 / Z61 / T43' you will see ' Z036-2'. When you buy this you have to tell the seller you want part ' Z036-2' when you pay. I did this through PayPal so the seller requested I specify which exact model using a PayPal notice during payment.

You get 2 for that price which isn't bad. Mine is similar to that (transparent molded silicone), paid about $7 from a different seller.

And I must say it's a better fit after using it for awhile...seems after some time the cover molds better to the keyboard, making typing feel more natural. It needs regular cleaning tho because dust seems to stick to it rather easily. But either way, dust isn't getting on the kb so it's good.

Also one concern was that it would keep the heat from dissipating through the kb, and while that may be the case, I find having the cover on has minimal to no discernable impact on my temps.

A little levity but maybe Durex or Trojan can make you a thin skin cover. With no lube of course.

why not to put it back to its box? it will last much longer :)

another option instead of this silicone "thing", you may buy an external keyboard, a slim one... like logitech utra-x
