Hey guys,
i am actually yet another one of those many people waiting for the Core2Duo's to be released on the Thinkpads, but each day that passes makes me more eager to just buy one now (and more eager to wait as well, since it's one day closer).
anyways, i am still choosing between the z61t, the T60, and the MacBook Pro. there are a ton of pros and cons that i am weighing between the 3 of them, but one of them is regarding the keyboard light and the webcam.
1) the T60 has the keyboard light and NOT the integrated webcam, i'm fairly sure. correct me, please, if i'm wrong
2) Now the z61t. I thought it had the integrated webcam, and NOT the keyboard light. But I saw a display model that seemed to only have the keyboard light (i couldn't find the webcam). Is it an either/or type of thing? And how do you know if your z61t will have the webcam or the keyboard light.

(The rest of my post is regarding my choice between the z61t, the t60, and the macbook pro. So only read on if you wanna help me out there)
So anyways, i just wanted to let you guys know what i've been thinking and was interested in hearing your opinion. Ideally, i would want a laptop that is/has:
1) Solidly built (T60, and maybe z61t)
2) Widescreen (MBP and z61t)
3) High quality screen (MBP and T60 - i have no preference glossy or matte),
4) Integrated Webcam (Z61t and MBP)
5) Dedicated Video Card (MBP and T60)
6) Dock (thinkpads only)
7) Thinkvantage (thinkpads only)
8) Dual-boot OSX and Windows (MBP)
9) ABle to carry around (Z61t. T60 and MBP less so)
Which characteristics should i compromise on, and which laptop would you recommend? Right now, i'm waiting to see what the C2D-refreshed thinkpads and MBP's look like before i make my choice. I'm crossing my fingers for a widescreen T60.
I am currently a medical student, so i would like to carry around my laptop everwhere and have good battery life to boot. I am not an intense gamer, but i do like to play the occasional game and do video editing on the side. It will replace my desktop (but i'm not interested in one of those 20 lb 17" desktop replacements), and i hope to attach it to a widescreen 20" monitor when at home.
also, i'm not completely sure about my preference of widescreen over normal aspect ratio. which do you guys prefer?

Look in the tabook. The camera kinda looks like a screw hole. If you like to have a lot of windows open at once widescreen is probably the way to go. I personally would prefer standard on the 14" models since the standard has a higher resolution.

I think every single Thinkpad released nowadays has the Thinklight...I could be wrong though.
The T60 can run OSX, though not perfectly. Check out the OSX board at forum.thinkpads.com for more information. There are just wayy too many problems with the MBP to ever justify a purchase for me, and with all the people sending them in for service on such a premium priced product? No thanks. Those horrible "Hi I'm a Mac" commercials notwithstanding.
Tabook? Here ya go.

BlueDevilTide... thanks for the link to the tabook and the headsup on OSX on thinkpads. i've seen that too, but it looks like it requires too much attention to be used as a primary OS.

Some Z61t models, 944038U at least, have both the keyboard light and integrated webcam.
