Hi guys, I don't know if this is normal or not, but my keyboard isn't perfectly flush with the space for the keybaord. There are portions sticking slightly up, and if I press down on the corners they flex and bend inwards. I do not know if these are correlatted buy my space key starts to squeak after heavy usage like after 30 mins. Its fine for the first 30 mins, then it starts to squeak all of a sudden and wont stop unless I give it a day to "rest".

The keyboard feels nice to type on, and everything else is comfortable, but I want to know what you guys think of your keyboards. If you guys don't mind, could you do me a favor and take a close look and see if there are edges of your keyboard slightly bending out and if you can press down a finger nail and see it flex?

Everything else is perfect about this laptop, and I don't want to go through tech support :(

    Thanks a Bunch!

No. None of this happens for me. This doesn't sound good. Would you like a good Lenovo support person? He helped me with a lot.

You can call them, but they will ask you to send the machine to them to have your keyboard fixed. I think you should do that if you are not able to open it and fix it yourself. It is a bit unusual the way they made the back cover, not to give you any flexibility in fixing / replacing some parts. I took mine apart few times and had the keyboard fixed, changed the drives and the screen as well. But I do not recommend doing that if you do not have proper tools (prying tools) as you may break some clips etc. etc. If you purchased in home support, they will come to you and fix it for you, other than that, they will send you a box to have your machine shipped back at them.

Yea I dont really wanna open up anything. If I could just easily pop out the keyboard and pop it back in I would. But it seems like I have to open up the back panel for that.

So my shot is to try persuading them for an inhome repair, I really dont want to box it up and send it back in. There is also an exchange if I can't do that, but thats my last resort.

I'll have to look at mine again. I know for a fact my keys are slightly higher compared to my brothers y400. it no problem at all but it isnt completely flush. Still works perfect though and cant really notice it too much.

Yea thanks for checking. I don't notice the keyboard sticking out too much, but I still dont know if it has a connection my spacebar squeaking issue.

If it was just a small squeaking noise i would be ok, but its a pretty audible squeak that drives me insane lol .

And the odd thing is it only happens after using it for a good amount of time to type on. So if I start typing on it now, it sounds fine and perfect. Then after 30-60 mins of typing or gaming , it starts to make that squeak. So weird...
