All right, some may know my ordeal with the screen, some may not. The problem was solved and the screen was taken care of. Initially the first solution yielded some blemishes in the screen, however, Mark Hopkins was very accommodating and really took my claim seriously.
I received the second go yesterday, and it's perfect - no problems and the case is remarkably unscathed. It looks just like it did when I received it in April and even better now that everything is resolved.
Though Lenovo could resolve such issues with a better return policy and "immediate response" type of satisfaction solution, considering the current policy, I feel that they have done very well by me when I could have been left a frustrated consumer with terrible buyer's remorse.
In short, I would like to say that in my case, Lenovo took excellent care of my notebook while it was out of my hands, taking care not to leave any scratches nor anything loose or wobbly in terms of casing. I have to say that they did a good job and they did right by this customer. I think every company out there, technology or not, needs a Mark. He really did make me feel so much better.
So, officially, Good Job, Lenovo. I appreciate the personalized service I received - greatly! I really love my Thinkpad now without any nagging feelings of dissatisfaction in my mind.
Sincerely,
tt

Congrats techno_techie!!!
Good to hear. I remember your case from the beginning. Curious, what screen res do you have now? I have been loving my machine and I was luck enough to get a great screen by default with the machine. -
As a owner of a T61, I would like to show my appreciation for the Lenovo Customer Support for sending me a brand new NMB keyboard and a palmrest in one business day.
It took me a while to get everything done very smoothly and I am typing on this squeak-free palm rest which refuses to make any freaking sound at all. Talk about sturdy!!! I am stunned by the difference another palm rest can make.
The NMB keyboard was a surprise because I thought that the representative whom I talked on the phone transferred my keyboard request to a supervisor who hasn't gotten back to me. I guess the boss decided it was too much hassle to get back to me on the phone... My old ALPS is slightly inferior to this NMB which came with a trackpoint that is, to my surprise, superior to the previous one.
Anyway, The CS has been absolutely helpful, understanding and responsive. I am really glad I decided to go with a Lenovo Thinkpad. -
This is good to hear. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
Kudos to Lenovo's service...
