I would like to hear from all T520 / W520 / L520 owners who have a HD+ display with 1600x900 pixel resolution. What do you think about your displays?

I am asking because reviews report quite different display quality.

The NotebookCHECK review of the T520 provides a positive assessment:

The NotebookCHECK review of the W520 comes also to a positive conclusion:
However, the German Notebookjournal.de review of the T520 display reports a completely different contrast:
Apparently, Lenovo is using two different HD+ panels for the L520 / T520 / W520.

    See the FRU numbers:
    15.6-inch LED-backlight LCD Service Parts - ThinkPad T520, T520i
    &
    15.6 inch (1600 x 900) HD+ LED-backlight LCD service parts - ThinkPad L420 and L520

I would also like to know whether you have experienced any issues with the fan at your ThinkPad machine and how you have solved it.

Do you know any other detailed reviews of the 15.6" ThinkPads?

    Thanks!

Do we need 4-5 threads on this subject?

Those threads were not identical but similar. I posted in each because different users might have subscribed to different threads and everyone for whom that is relevant is scattered around several threads and forums.

It seems that you or someone else removed my posts. I would have greatly appreciated if this would have been discussed with me beforehand.

I removed a selected number of your posts. Reviving old threads is generally considered poor forum etiquette, and cross-posting the same content (and linking back to this thread) is against forum rules. This thread provides an ample forum for you to discuss these issues, there's no need to ask the same question in 5-6 different threads where the OP has not returned in months. If you have further questions, PM me or any other moderator.

At least in the US, the HD+ screen for the T520/W520/L520 is considered to be quite nice with ample contrast. I haven't heard of any users complaining about the low contrast that the German NotebookCheck cites.
