I have a Lenovo S10e (487RU) netbook, which I have set up dual boot with Xp sp3 and Win 7 sp1.

The LAN (wired ethernet) used to work, but recently has stopped working, in both XP and 7. The fact that it stopped working in both OSes indicates that the problem is hardware-related, not software.

Yet, I still tried to fix it software-wise, in both OSes, by uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, downloading and installing newer drivers from teh Broadcom site, etc. Nothing worked. IT does not even show up as a device in device manager.

WLAN still works, and I use that more than wired. However, there are occasions where one needs to use the wired LAN.

The machine is out of warranty. Is there any way I could fix this myself?
