    Samsung 42X4641 $367.00
    LG 42T0417 $401.21
    LG 42T0423 $468.89

    42T0423 = LG
    42X4641 = Samsung

    per the Hardware Maintainable Manual

    But my laptop part list displays both so I am lost. One say Display and the other says Display Assembly.

    42T0423 15.4 INCH LCD DISPLAY FRU
    42X4641 15.4 INCH LCD DISPLAY ASSEMBLY FRU

    Actually, the screen that most people complain about (myself included) with the T61 is FRU# 42T0329 (15.4" Samsung WSXGA+). To purchase it right now through Lenovo as a replacement part is $540.36. So replacement price doesn't necessarily reflect quality.

    I'm not sure which Samsung that is for $367, unless it's the same as FRU# 42T0329, just re-FRU'ed.

    Not true. Look on your invoice, you'll see that #42T0329 refers to more than just the LCD panel. You should also have the FRU #42X4641 listed if you have the Samsung - this is the LCD only. So my theory still stands price=quality.

    You're right! I had never noticed that there were two separate entries for the display. It's very confusing though as 42X4641 is called "display assembly FRU", while 42T0329 is just called "display FRU", yet it's more money. The parts ordering website doesn't seem to offer a lot of clarification.
