You mean you want to change the backlight from CCFL to LED? No you cant unless you want to do lot of soldering and fiddling around. Not really worth it unless you have too much time on hand.

Exactly! Since i have a t60p, I thought an IPS with LED backlighting would simply make me forget about every other laptops, then reality sinks in.

I was considering attempting to RGBLED mod my QXGA screen (assuming I can find 4-pin single-unit RGB LEDs). Color saturation is rather mediocre in this screen. I have a spare cracked QXGA screen to test the mod on, but in order to open up the bottom to attach the LEDs, I would have to use a dremel tool to cut an opening.

I don't mind soldiering and fidlling with it but can i just change the screen to a LED backlit like the ones in MBP.

OK cool thanks, one more question which uses less power and which screen is better picture Led Lcd or just LED
-
LED can be brighter then the CCFL, and they can last longer. CCFL uses more power then LED with same brightness.

You can do a straight swap using a T400 LED lid frame onto a T61, even the hinge placement will fit in. The only stumbling block is that the LCD connectors are different between the two. I'm not 100% sure but you could try and modify the connector end of the T400 LED cable so that it fits in the T61 but I can't guarantee if this would work as this is going to the unknowns i'm afraid, though it would be cool seeing a LED version of the T61. -
OK cool I am going to try and put a LED screen like the MBP in but one question I have to make sure first, is it true that LED screens don't need inverter if so the computer can handle the LED screen but just making sure is it just the cord i have to change or is there other stuff
THanks
LCD to LED
