Check device manager under "display adapters".
If you have an nvidia GPU like an 8600m or 8400m then that could be the problem. -
today its not getting started at all.......

i don't think i have any graphics unit if tats wht u mean.......

Ok, you must have the integrated intel 4500m as the graphics unit. It doesn't have many problems so that's good.
It might help if you re-seat the ram. -
i am still covered with warranty......will the warranty holds if i do that?

I don't know.
If you have warranty, I would just let lenovo fix it. -
When you say it doesn’t turn on, do you mean there is no activity whatsoever? Do you hear the HDD spinning when you turn the computer on? If so, then try another hard drive just to see what happens?
EDIT: Even if you don't have a spare HDD, just take the one out you have now and see what happens? If it turns on and acts as if it wants to bootup (it can't of course since there is no HDD), then it just very well could be the HDD. -
well thanks for ur suggestion

there is no movement at all...just the charging light is glowing nothing else

My G550 has a Mobile Intel 4 series chipset.
It sounds to me like a hardware problem whether it's the HD or not, so I'd make use of the warranty..

Did you already take the battery out, disconnect the power supply and hold/push down the power button for 20 seconds or longer? I would hold it down for a minute, but thats just me. After you do that, then plug in the AC adapter and boot the computer up. If all goes well, it might not be anything. But if you still have nothing, then I would definitely make use of the warranty.
