    So my brother is going to L.A. and i really want the X61-tablet. It will be very inconvenient for me to order it online because of timing (delivery time etc.), what are my best options if i want to buy it at a store? Are there official Lenovo stores or electronic stores which sells them?

    I heard FRY'S is real big electronic store in L.A. but i looked at their website and they do not sell Lenovo/IBM at all.

    Thank you.

    ps: I'm not from USA.

    not too sure if lenovo has stores. If so, I've never seen one and I'm out of california

    if you buy a pre-configed model, then they can ship those pretty fast. same deal with "buy today, ship today" but stock varies so much you'll have to call it in

    1-877-884-4658, Option 1, ext. 7198

    a 2-3 day shipping window should be easier to time vs a 7 to 45 day wait on custom builds

    good luck.

    edit: here's a link to help you find a reseller

    Not to burst your bubble, but ThinkPads are going to be tough to see in a store. At times various retailers like OfficeDepot and CompUSA have offered them. I'm not sure if anyone is doing so now. I suspect Fry's does not. To the best of my knowledge Lenovo does not have a retail presence. If you do end up buying one here, I'd suggest one with IWS or upgrading to it so you'll be covered wherever you are not in the US. This may be of interest to you:

    Micro Center Tustin has them but they are located in Orange County (about 30 miles south of Los Angeles).

    Thanks for all the responses. With this link http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/bp_search.html i found california computer center and probably going to order it through bank wire.. It takes them a few days instead of weeks to get it from their warehouse so that should be do-able.

    IWS=? Something with international warranty?

    Yes, IWS = International Warranty Service. You don't want to drop all that $$$ and have no warranty when you get home. It either comes with it or I believe you can pay to upgrade. You might want to check with the local office to see what's covered.
