This is why I like systems that have eSATA ports so I can clone and play with new OS loads separate from my primary drive. :) Thanks for taking one for the team!

    Cheers,

    This is why virtualbox exists.

    Cheers.

As much as I like using virtual machines for testing business apps or Linux I don't like them for testing full os functionality including full 3D accelerated games.

Isn't 326.01 already available through Windows Update after you install 8.1? That's the driver designed specifically for it.

So they say, but it doesn't appear to be popping up for all. Nvidia has stated that they will be fixing the solution with MS by the end of the day (that was yesterday :p)

Yes I understand thats why there is virtual box, but seeing as this is just an update, I found it very hard to believe that such drastic changes to Drivers were necessary.

You learn something new everyday :) :p

Damn I was a bit too eager to try Windows 8.1, and saw that nvdia had driver, but didn't see the comments telling they weren't available for notebooks !

Will a "system refresh" delete games in the process or is it a safe thing to do ?

Think it was a typo and he meant "now," otherwise no reason for the smileys.

I updated yesterday (I made a backup first). My nVidia stuff works just fine. I'm running the 320.49 beta drivers on my Y410P

Honestly, The only change I see in Win8.1 is the addition of a start button to the desktop. All that button does it take you back to the Metro interface. It's really not worth the several hours it rakes for the update. It's really more like Windows 8.01.

    yes before was typo.

I think it was worth it, it adds a lot of small features that make things more fluent, such as being able to bypass metro upon computer boot, you can now boot straight into Desktop, refined search, better store gui and alot of nice start screen options and lockscreen. It seems like a more fine tooned windows 8.

I just dont see how these weren't in the initial release :p.

Oh also apps update in background now!

Honestly I find it a lot more convenient :)
