My old laptop bag doesn't really work. Picked up new Targus w/ Dome Protection that fits up to 17"...the y510p doesn't fit (too wide, and offers too much "dead space").

So, I'm seeing what other people have before I go out and buy one. My biggest requirement is that it must be very protective. I will be...traveling the world in possibly harsh conditions, and want something that can offer awesome protection regardless of environment. I also require it to have a shoulder strap, as this is the easiest way to carry the laptop while you have numerous duffel bags at my side, and on my back...

And information would be greatly appreciated!

Currently using a nice Targus bag for my Y410p. Looks and fits nicely, and i carry it everyday to campus :p The bag is an old 2006 model designed for 15.1 inch laptops, though the Y410p fits with just a little wiggle room.
