Last minute questions for T61

I was planning on getting the T61p but i am tired of waiting to get a laptop before school begins...i got two questions...First, is the extra ultrabay battery worth getting?..how much battery life will it add?...and second...as far as warantees...i saw that most people recommend that 3 year is what most people would like..so would 3 Year Depot Upgrade with 3 Year ThinkPad Protection...be it? I hope to order it later tonight or tomorrow..im excited

 

I have a 6-cell, and I get 3 hours of Internet use and Word use. I'm a writer, so I spend most of my time in Word and doing research via the Internet. Not sure if that helps you out, but there you go.

You'll love the T61. I've had mine for almost a week now, and I absolutely love it.

 

I didn't get the ultrabay battery with my new T60p because it is only a 3-cell (which doesn't add that much time given the cost) and a few previous threads have complained that the battery has a shorter life than most (in worst cases losing 1/2 its capacity in 6 months) I got a 6-cell and a 9-cell instead.

 

9 cell on the T61 doesn't exist...

I did order a T61 with 6 cell (preconfigured, unfortenately) and the Ultrabay battery. That Ultrabay Battery is overpriced in dollars per Whr but I think that a batterytime of 4 hours is sometimes priceless, so

 

i got the 7 cell t61 battery. jimco you say you get 3 hours ish of batt doing internet.. that sounds good to me ... do you have the screen backlight turned all the way up during that?

 

The 9 cell is a battery on the 15" model only
