Ok too many posts later I have one more query maybe 2. Though the screen is a bit too dim on the T61 I can live with it. As you know the X200s has same WXGA screen as the X200 in Europe. Now my query for those who may own both (leadorg?). Is the CCFL screen on the T61 and that one on the X200 series the same quality. The reason I never got the CCFL version a year ago was because of a lot of bad reviews on here regarding the X200 screen especially with video playback. Since then I had to find out that Lenovo LED hurts my eyes. Now if the X200s (remember same screen as X200) has similar CCFL to T61 I would be OK with it. My T61 plays all movies without any problems really. A minor bit of flaw in blacks etc I can live with. Other query is that instead of getting a travel netbook I was thinking of getting an X60s for the way off track road ... but am afraid of heat.

which T61 and LCD resolution are we talking about here? 14.1 inch standard, 14.1 inch wide or 15.4 inch wide? WXGA? WSXGA+? XGA? SXGA+?
Mine X200 LCD was on par with the T61 14.1 inch WXGA LG LCD panel in terms of quality. They are not the best LCD for HD movies, since they lack the contrast and refresh rate compared to the better 24 inch desktop TN or IPS LCD.
X60s is really good, it runs much cooler than the X61 and they are one of my all time favourite X series laptop. -

Thanks lead org. I am looking at X60s instead of a netbook but it seems I cannot find any anymore ... so it runs cool enough that is good. battery life ?
Does it have USB 1 or USB 2 ?
I am also looking for an X200s with a CCFL screen but unless I pay 1900 Euros for it ... it looks like I am not going to get one .... the X201 cqn be bought from about 900 Euro ... go figure -
It has 3 usb 2.0 port.
A 8 cell battery one can get around 6 to 7 hours with no wireless and brightness set to half. A ssd can boost the battery time by another 30 minutes or so.
Last query T61 / X200s
