    Hi guys.

Has anyone tried using the latest drivers from intel for the 965 integrated intel graphics card, for Vista64?

They work fine, and seem a bit faster than the ones from Lenovo (which haven't been updated in a while) but when the notebook is on battery, then the screen will randomly blank for a second, randomly.

I've set power manager not to dim my screen, I thought it might have something to do with that, but alas.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

the intel driver is missing many of the features that lenovo adds to the driver available on their site.   every intel driver i tried on my X61 and X61T broke the on-screen brightness display and had other instabilities.

unless there's a compelling reason to use the intel driver, i recommend using lenovo's driver.   it's specifically made to work with your system where intel's is not.

Not sure whether lenovo has added any extra features or performance tweak. However the driver directly from Intel does break the support of on-screen notification like brightness, volume etc.

Yeah, I noticed the OSD is broken with the new ones, but I don't really need/care for it. Still tweaking / fiddling to see if I can get the Intel ones working, I just find the machine a slight more snappy with these ones.

The interesting thing though, the XP x64 drivers from intel didn't give me random screen blanking like the Intel Vista x64 do.
