Among the led indicators on the thinkpad, beside the wireless, num lock, caps, hdd, battery, standby, there is one shaped like the letter 'Z' between the hdd and battery indicators. What does it indicate? (I'm talking about T61)

What's the difference between that and the one like a 2-prong plug?

The 2-prong plug signifies that your notebook is plugged into AC power.

Oh, so "Z" = either battery or AC, that's it?

The 2-prong plug signifies that the computer is plugged in, and the "Z-shaped" indicator signifies that the computer is powered on. Unfortunately, the documentation provided w/ these laptops is severely lacking.

Thanks for the clarification! As I use my t61 as desktop and almost always use AC, I always assumed the AC indicator is the power indicator. :)

Actually, the lights are all described in the Thinkpad manual provided with the package...

The Z in the circle is the powered-on indicator, and the power cord indicator is the AC power indicator.
