Can anyone help with this issue? Thank you in advance.

    Computer/Settings Info:
    Running Windows 7
    Lenovo T420 laptop
tried connecting an external mouse - same issues as stated below.
Booted in safe mode - same issues as below.
Control panel - Mouse - Button configuration - the box to switch primary and secondary buttons is unchecked. I checked it - same issues just reverse with left and right button. Turn on ClickLock is unchecked.
Went into programs list - only program that was recent installed/updated was Adobe - uninstalled adobe - did not fix.

What's going wrong:Weird stuff with the mouse - left clicks either not working or bringing up the right click menu. Left click appears to be working fine. Right click does not appear to be working at all.

start menu - left click opens the right click menu -- e.g., click on "Computer," my computer window does not open - instead a menu pops up (menu options are - open, manage, map network drive ....) right click does not do anything. I can successfully left click on open to open it.

desktop icon - left clicking opens menu options. Can't drag and drop an item into the recycle bin - it will highlight the item and appear to move outline but the item stays on my desktop where it was.

Google Chrome - can't click left click on tabs at the top. Can't click on address bar. Can't click on chrome settings. But a left click on the X does close a tab - so i can move to the next tab. Can left (but not right) click on most items in the open tab (e.g., gmail is open, can open an email or click on other gmail buttons).

Sometimes programs like google chrome, task manager, the desktop and start menu all become totally unresponsive to any mouse clicks.

Microsoft Word - can't click around to move cursor

IE - left click works but right click does not. I.e., can toggle between tabs, etc.

    Ran anti-virus and ad-aware - no issues.

Get or replace your mouse. Case closed.

I tried attaching an external mouse - same issues. Plus the built in mouse clicks work in certain programs.
