Hi. My X230 arrived about 3 weeks ago, and I am beginning to worry about the squeaking on my left hinge.

I believe that it has been like this ever since it has arrived. My left hinge squeaks whenever I raise the lid, but not when I put it back down.

Is there anyway to mitigate this sound, or remove it completely? Is it something I should be worried about, or can I simply disregard it?

    Thanks.

Personally, I'd leave it, but if it bothers you that much, call support and see what they say.

Probably something over/undertightened. If it remains an issue going forward, choose a time when you won't need your laptop for a few days and send it in for warranty service. They're usually very fast with small, simple replacements such as this (receive a prepaid overnight box with packing materials the next day, send it in and received the next, repairs for one or two days, and overnighted back).
