I have a lenavo N500, and I had this machine for about 3 months. As of late my monitor is making some sort of flicker-like scramble motion. For a few seconds the screen will flash white horizonal lines and then be still. It happens in bouts where it will do this flash and still for few times and then be ok for a while. Some times it will be white and have lines, this happen once before it flash into normacly.

Now my husband says that it's the monitor dying, a friend says one of the cords in the laptop is loose. IDK what to do, and I am afraid of sending my baby in the shop and having people mess it up. I heard to many horror stories of people getting laptops in worse contions then they send them in.

What can I do and what is the problem?

It could be the LCD monitor connection is lose or it would be dying but most likely it's loose since it's a relatively new notebook. If your friend is tech savvy he may be able to disassemble your notebook and check the connection.

There should be a disassembly guide out there somewhere...

    EDIT: Here it is:

Had a similar problem with a new X301 and sent it back twice within a month. On mine the screen would work for a while and then start loosing resolution until it became unreadable. If I pressed slight to the left and above the "Thinkpad" emblem - it woudl work for a while. Lenovo replaced the motherboard the first time (and had the problem immediately on boot up when I got it) , and the LCD monitor cable the second time. So far (a little over a week) it appears to be working well.
