It's been a while since I've had to do this, but with the older IBM workstations, you could go into bios and set the bios to hard drive not installed, even if there was one in there.
With the T60, I don't see a way of disabling the hard drive through bios so that it is not recognized. Does anyone know if this is still possible.

I dont think you really need to worry about that, but then again its entirely up to you and your personal decisions. I have run Ubuntu off both a LiveCD and installed it on a separate partition without any issues.
And for me I really dont need to worry because my main partition is NTFS and 7.04 can't write to it. However 7.10 can ;O -
That's a good point, I'll have to check if my version of linux can write to NTFS. If not, that solves the problem right there.
